Dear Elizabeth,
I can't believe it! My picture didn't win! Xander's did, but mine did not. That's two times in a row! Now let me explain. Art Space Lima (concerted and sadly ineffectual effort by the higher-ups to instill culture in the small town of Lima Ohio) has an art contest, and none of our drawings won to get hung up the first time. And then the second time, Xander's won and mine did not, and I am crushed. They have disueged me (I can't figure out what I was trying to say). I am happy for Xander but sad myself, and some friends of ours entered too and both won, Melissa with a tiny object, and Mark with a giant eel that's covered with cloth that looks like M&Ms. Xander and Daddy did go to the chess tournament. Today is the second day and we unfolded the sofa bed. Well anyway, we went to church, not our usual Mennonite church, but a Methodist one within walking distance, and in Ada, and guess what? We were too late and it was 10:30 not 10:00. So we went back and made deviled eggs and goofed off. I made a cake with Mommy for supper. Goodnight!
Love, Maria
