March 16, 2005

Dear Diana,
Today is the first day of spring. Xander settled right next to me, and is eating and chewing grossly. We have Family Class today (and sparring). I don't like Instructor Elise. Yesterday, when we were leaving TKD early (for orchestra), she said, "Maria, Talia, come back here," in a military tone. Oh, how I hate that tone! She always does it. I know I'm not supposed to hate anyone, but I can't help it. I know! I'll pray for her! The Bible says we should love our enemies. This is not very nice at all, but I made a whole scenario where one of the other instructors yelled at her for it, and she was quite penitent. Then, I added on another part where she came and yelled at me, and hit me. One of the instructors heard and saw, and came to my rescue. She lied, but she is so stupid that they saw through that dirty trick easily. She was punished, and it (her punishment) was: making her a white belt with no stripes again. Even when she got to be a black belt, she could not teach. She would be a non-existing teacher. Only in times of greatest need would she be pulled out. Oh, and here is what happened, how she got her white belt:
"It was testing day. Everyone was excited, except Elise. She was to be taken down to white belt for being cruel to a student, Maria. She went last. They went through the lists of names: "Maria, poom belt. Charles, poom belt. Xander, poom belt. Talia, poom belt. Lily, brown belt. Mariel, poom belt. Sara, orange belt." Then green. Then orange. Then yellow. She heard "Edna, yellow belt." Then, "Elise." She managed to get to the front somehow. The whole class heard "Elise, white belt," and burst out laughing. She turned red with shame. At each class after that, she was almost too mortified to come in. She had to re-learn the white belt form and self-defense. She remembered her one-step-sparring."
Isn't that good now? This is by far the longest entry I've ever made. We may yet get burgers today. They will probably be gigantic. Anselm is convinced that he will get fries and a milkshake too. Xander says American's attention spans are getting shorter. I dunno, I can still be engrossed in a book for more than twelve minutes.* And hey! How long have I been writing?! Well, it's time to get dressed for family class. Oh, I wrote a lot. Whew!
