June 9, 2005

Dear Diana,
Today was my first adult TKD class for so long (I think it was at least a month), and even then, it's a different class. Anselm just started attacking me of all people (why not Dad?), so it's getting hard to write. Lately, Dad has been doing algebra with me, under protest, and pits me with problems that are "easy." In my book, any problem that's hard is hard. What's the formula for circles? (π•r² ) How do you find the area of a rectangle or square? Diameter*height (I forget the word), etc, etc.

Remember: I never really learned math except on my own (and rather poorly at that), and Dad jumped into the middle of a text that was above my level, so my ineptitude might be explained, if not excused.
